AJI CIRCULAR PARKの運営母体である中商事株式会社は、これまで衣類や生活雑貨の卸売事業を通して地域の発展を支えてきました。一方で、私たちが主に扱う衣類は、グローバルなサプライチェーンの中でかつてない速さで生産され、地球環境やそこで働く人々に多くの負荷をかけています。

また、私たちの地元・香川県の豊島は、日本で過去最悪と言われる産廃不法投棄事件の舞台となり、島の外から持ち込まれた多くのゴミに、島民が長い間苦しめられました。
これらの問題の背景には、大量生産、大量消費、大量廃棄を前提とした、リニア（直線）型の経済システムがあります。
私たちは、この経済システムを循環型に移行していくことで、問題を解決する必要があると考えます。

そして、新型コロナウィルスの感染拡大により人やモノの移動が減り、外需に頼っていた瀬戸内は大きなダメージを受けました。
地域の持続的な発展のためにも、地域内でのモノや人の循環が必要であることに気付かされたのです。

私たちは、この美しく豊かな瀬戸内を次の世代につなぐために、循環型の営みを瀬戸内からつむいでいきたいと考えています。

On the other hand, clothing is produced at an unprecedented speed in the global supply chain, placing a lot of burden on the global environment and the people who work there.

In Kagawa Prefecture, where our company is located, there was also the illegal dumping of industrial waste on Teshima Island, said to be the worst ever in Japan.
The islanders suffered for a long time from a lot of garbage brought in from outside the island.
Behind these problems lies a linear economic system based on mass production, mass consumption, and mass disposal.
We believe that we need to solve these problems by shifting this economic system to a circular one.

And with the spread of the new coronavirus, the region's reliance on external demand has been severely damaged.
We realized that for the sustainable development of the region, we needed to circulate within the region.

We would like to continue the circular activities in the Setouchi area in order to pass on the beauty and richness of the Setouchi area to the next generation.

当店が循環を考える上で大切にしていることは、「循環のスケール」です。 循環をする際は、狭域であるほど良いと考えており、「個人」や「家族間」での循環を第一優先とし、その後「半径2キロ（知人・ご近所）」、「地域」、「国内」と可能な限り狭域での循環に取り組みます。

また、モノやコトが循環する為には、4つの要素が必要と考えます。一つ目は、人々のこころに響くモノやサービスであることの「Happiness」。2つ目は、多様性を認め互いに受け入れ合う「Diversity 」。3つ目は、多様性を受け入れて個々の特性が活かされている状態である「Inclusion」。そして最後に、Less BadではなくMore Goodによる再生を目指した活動を意味する「Regeneration」、これら4つを意識した取り組みを進めます。

What we consider important when thinking about circulation is the "distance of circulation. We believe that the narrower the area of circulation, the better.
We place the highest priority on circulation among individuals and families, followed by acquaintances and neighbors, then the local community, and then the domestic community.
